At BoltChatAI, we believe that powerful technology should be built on clear principles.
As AI continues to evolve, so does our responsibility to ensure it’s used thoughtfully, transparently and fairly, especially when it comes to human conversations.
That’s why we’ve built ethical considerations into the very foundation of how we design, train and operate our platform.
Here’s how we’re doing it…
Responsible AI, By Design
We don’t treat ethics as a checklist, it’s part of how our AI is built.
Our moderation system is purpose-built for qualitative research, rather than relying on generic language models.
We train our AI on research-specific data, using real transcripts that reflect a wide range of contexts and categories. This ensures the AI understands nuance, intent and relevance from the outset.
We also prioritise explainability. Our team can trace the logic behind every AI-generated probe or summary, meaning clients can trust not just the output, but how we got there.
And because we actively monitor alignment with global standards, our AI evolves responsibly as regulations and best practices change.
Importantly, we do not train our AI models using client project data. We keep this entirely separate. Clients hold full IP rights over any research conducted using our platform. They own their data and we respect that fully.
Privacy and Consent Are Non-Negotiables
Respect for respondents is fundamental.
Every respondent who takes part in a BoltChatAI study must provide clear, informed consent before participating.
We never engage people without their knowledge or permission, and our platform clearly labels when our AI Moderator is being used.
We also ensure human oversight is built in. Our AI doesn’t operate in a vacuum, moderators and research teams stay in the loop, reviewing studies, responses and outcomes to make sure everything stays on track.
And when it comes to data privacy, we follow strict internal controls, giving respondents transparency and control over how their data is used.
Keeping It Fair and Inclusive
AI should reflect the world it’s researching.
We work to minimise bias at every stage of the research journey. Our AI-moderation is designed to engage fairly across demographic groups, avoiding discriminatory or exclusionary patterns in both language and logic.
By training our models on diverse, real-world data, we build systems that better represent the complexity of consumer experience.
And because we run studies globally, our system is built for cultural and linguistic nuance. From local language support to the way probes are phrased, our AI adapts across markets, making our research more inclusive, not less.
Transparency at Every Step
People should know what’s AI and what’s not.
We believe respondents and clients deserve clarity. That’s why our conversations clearly indicate when an AI is moderating. There’s no confusion, no “grey area” and no pretending.
Clients also have full visibility into how the AI behaves, with the option to customise, review and adjust chat guides, tasks and probes as needed. The goal is not to replace human expertise, but to make it faster, more scalable and easier to act on.
Always Learning, Always Accountable
We don’t just launch features and move on, we learn from every interaction.
Our AI systems are reviewed regularly by both automated checks and human analysts. We analyse performance to spot gaps, flag bias and improve over time.
And we listen to researchers, respondents and regulators to ensure we’re evolving with the needs of the people who use us.
When something isn’t working as it should, we take ownership. Continuous improvement is part of our process, and feedback helps us make BoltChatAI stronger.
Ethical by design. Trusted by experience.
The future of AI in research is about doing things right. At BoltChatAI, we’re committed to using technology responsibly and respectfully, so our clients can trust the insights they uncover and the people behind them can trust the process.
